The Outlander Book Tag

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! I meant to blog yesterday but ended up with a case writers block. Well I have a tag for you today.

Sasha Alsberg on YouTube made this tag and you should seriously go check it out here: The Outlander Book Tag

Of course when I saw this tag, I had to do it. I mean come on, it’s Outlander! I love Outlander; the books ( so far) and the TV show. I will currently be reading Dragonfly in Amber while I watch season two.

Just as a disclaimer: I recommend Outlander for those of the age 18 and over due to content. And you don’t have to read Outlander to do this tag! So here we go!

The Outlander Book Tag

  1. You touch some standing stones and get transported back in time, what year would you hope to land in? For me this a hard one but I would totally want to go to 1743 😉 it would be rough but there is Jamie Fraser so…..I think I’ll be okay!
  2. Claire is a very good nurse, what type of skill would you want to have that a fictional character excels at? I do not own any books with a character with this skill i don’t think but I would want to be a seamstress. Learning how to see clothes and even if  need be stitch up a wound..
  3. Jamie and Claire are the ultimate relationship goals, who is your favorite fictional couple? Well, I think I am going to pick Matthias and Nina from Six of Crows. I loved their relationship and I ship them.
  4. The ending of Outlander was shocking, what is one book that totally blew your mind? I am going to go with Passenger. The way it ended was just…. Ugh… I need the sequel!
  5. Scotland has lots of castles and we see a few in Outlander, what fictional kingdom would you want as your own ( castle included)? I have no clue… Oh wait. Narnia, I want Narnia.
  6. Outlander has some very steamy scenes, what is your favorite romantic novel? I don’t read a whole lot of romance novels, actually hardly any at all. So, I am going to go with The Wrath and the Dawn. The romance was done so well in that book!
  7. The Jacobite Rising was a huge plot point in the Outlander series, what book has your favorite battle in it? I always liked the battle scene in Girl in Blue was super good. Not graphic or anything but I liked the historical aspect.
  8. Jamie and Claire get married very unexpectedly, what fictional character would you want to marry on a whim? I am going to go with Jamie for this one. I don’t even need to think about it.
  9. Scotland is a beautiful place, what is one fictional world would you love to visit? Avonlea. I am an Anne-girl at heart and I would love to visit.
  10. If you could change the past, would you? No. I wouldn’t. I believe that everything happens for a reason. 🙂

I really enjoyed this tag and I tag you! Go and let me know if you do it!

Till next time!

How I Read Book Tag

Good morning beautiful people! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! I took a mini “spring-break” from blogging to enjoy a weekend with my family and drinking my protein shake for breakfast. Now I am back and I have a bookish tag.

I was tagged by Abi over at Life as a Homeschooled Teen go check her out her blog and her answers for the tag! Thank you Abi for tagging me!

Here we go!

YouTube. If I am looking for a new book I got the BookTube community. Especially for the most hyped books. I also just go and browse the bookstore and pick up the ones that interest me. Although I just picked up two books nobody I know has talked about yet and the plots sounds amazing.

Here are my favorite YouTubers in the book community:

Go check them out!

Growing up I started out hating reading very much. I had such a hard time with it, and up until a few months ago we realized that it was dyslexia. As I have gotten older I have become a much better reader, still have days where I have my moments. I am very thankful to the teachers who helped me in reading early on when they noticed I was having issues. Because without them working to help me succeed and helped me to realize reading is actually fun. 🙂

I don’t think my reading taste has really changed. I may have expanded my interests, but that hasn’t changed what I love to read in general. As I have gotten older, I have given books I didn’t think I would enjoy a chance.

When the bills are paid and I have a little extra money, you can find me at Barnes and Noble. So not as often as I would love to. But that is what makes the library such a great alternative.

Again, YouTube. Originally, I was going to try YouTube, and I even filmed a couple of times. They didn’t turn out they way I wanted them to. Then I decided to try writing a review here on the blog. My very first review was on Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare The Infernal Devices Book One Review!. I have found that the book reviews are one of my favorite posts to do and I have many more reviews to do in the future!

I try to understand why the author ends their stories the way they do. For the most part, all the books I have read have had good endings and I only cry because they ended to soon.

I try VERY not to. I like experiencing the book from cover to cover. But there are those days where I can not contain myself and I have looked.

So I want to tag you the readers to do this tag. I want to know how you read! Comment or if you have a blog, blog it and comment with the link so I can read it!

Till next time!

Would You Rather Book Tag

I have been away from the blogging world for a few days, and now I am back to my normal schedule. I got a small piece of poetry done today and now I am going to do a book tag. I was nominated by Abi from Life As A Homeschooled Teen, go check out her blog and see her answers for this tag.

  1.  Would you rather only read trilogies or only read standalone? ~ Trilogies. I like to see character development. Although there are some great classics that are standalone novels.
  2. Would you rather only read male or female authors? ~ Most of my books have been written by females. I don’t really have a preference.
  3. Would you rather shop at Barnes and Noble or Amazon? ~
I like to look at the books in person. I love Barnes and Noble, and while Amazon is awesome, you can’t beat the smell of books. .
  4. Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies? ~
Oh this is hard… because my favorites are mini series. So I guess I may have to go with TV though I have some favorite movie adaptations.
  5. Would you rather read only 5 pages per day or 5 books per week? ~
If I could, 5 books per week!
  6.  Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer? ~ I may have to go with professional author. I like writing and telling stories.
  7. Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller? ~ Bookseller. I would love to open a bookstore/coffee shop. I think it would be a lot of fun.
  8. Would you rather read only your favorite genre or every other genre but your favorite? ~ I would rather read my favorite genre(s).
  9. Would you rather only read e-books or physical books? ~
Nothing beats the feel and the smell of a real book. I prefer physical books.
  10. Would you rather read a love-at-first-sight romance or an intense love triangle romance? ~
.This one is tough. Because it depends on the story and who it works in the actual story. I thought that for Passenger the love at first sight worked for the story, while The Infernal Devices the love triangle worked.

So there you have it. Thanks Abi for nominating me!

I nominate anyone of you reading this to do this tag, whether you blog it or put your answers in the comment section!

Till next time!

Taylor Swift Book Tag

I thought it would be fun to do a tag today. I have seen the Taylor Swift book tag and figured why not? So without anymore chatting let’s go!

1) We Are Never Getting Back Together: A book or series you were pretty sure you were in love with but then wanted to break up with.

Well I am going to give this one to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares. I remember reading the first book in middle school. I checked out that book from my school library probably ten times.. But then by books two and three, I realized I wasn’t as in love with them as I thought.

2) Red: Pick a book with a red cover.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I have the red cover that was released for the TV show.

3) The Best Day: Pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.

Hands down the Christy Miller Series by Robin Jones Gunn. I read the first book when I was 15 and I still have all 4 volumes on my shelf. Occasionally, I’ll re-read them to get those warm and fuzzy feelings.

4) Love Story: Pick a book with a forbidden love.

I am going to go with Annie Between the States by L.M. Elliott. Annie lives in the south during the American Civil War when she meets a handsome Northerner. She really struggles with her emotions for this young man and feeling patriotic to her home.

5) I Knew You Were Trouble: pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.

Hands down Kaz from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. Kaz is a criminal. He thinks nothing of killing anyone who crosses him. But I love his character.

6) Innocent: pick a book that someone ruined the ending of.

Easy. Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I was on Pinterest and there it was… It was on my TBR list and now I am not sure I can physically take that pain again.

7) Everything Has Changed: pick a book that has a character who goes through extensive character development.

I am going to go with Alec Lightwood in City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare.  I loved how Alec has come to accept Clary as one of them, even helping Simon when he was starving. He is protective of his friends and sister. I loved seeing him just whipping out that bow of his!

8) Forever and Always: pick your favorite book couple.

There is no way I can pick one! So I have shortened the list to 5 couples

Anne and Gilbert (Anne of Green Gables)

Will and Tessa ( TID)

Jem and Tessa (TID)

Matthias and Nina ( Six of Crows)

Jace and Clary ( TMI)

9) You Belong With Me: most anticipated book release.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. This is the sequel to Six of Crows. It is suppose to come out this fall. I want be with the crew again!

10) Come Back, Be Here: pick a book you wouldn’t lend out to anyone for fear of missing it too much.

I have two actually. Though really I don’t like loaning any of my books. In particular: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. I am currently reading Passenger but these books are so pretty and different from my other books…

11) Tear Drops on My Guitar: a book that made you cry a lot.

Well I am going to go with a recent cry as there have been many books that have made me cry. I cried at the scene where Will was telling Tessa his feelings in Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. It tore my heart in two.

12) Shake it Off: a book that you love so much you just shake off the haters.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I don’t care if you don’t like it… I love it! Haters gonna hate!

Feel free to tell me your answers!

Till my next post!
