New York City: Day 2

Our last day, we ate breakfast at the hotel and then we checked out. Our first stop was to Shmackary’s for a cookie and coffee, I highly recommend this cute little shop! Then we made our way up to the Downton Abbey Exhibition. So the next photos will be from the exhibition. It was so nice and if you are a Downton Abbey fan you should try and see it! I didn’t edit these photos mainly because I wanted to keep the “tourist” feel to them because I was a total geek and just snapped away. So I hope you like them!

After we got our souvenirs from the gift shop we made our way to our bus stop to go home. We had lunch and the only kink in our plans was the hour long wait because our bus was late. I am looking forward to my next trip up.

NYC Trip:Day 1

New York City is hands down one of my favorite places. I love the hustle and bustle and the architecture. I love the towering skyscrapers and Time Square. I love Broadway and New York pizza. This was my second time in the city and I was reminded of how much I love the city. When I was in Middle School/High School, I had dreams of moving to the City That Never Sleeps. Now however, I am content with visiting when I can. It always amazes me how our lives end up panning out in comparison to those childhood dreams. I am not disappointed in the way life turned out only disappointed that I don’t take enough time to do the things I enjoy. I think from now on, I am going to change that. When ever I feel lost or confused, New York seems to bring me back. Lately, I have been feeling lonely, and depressed. I haven’t being feeling myself. I get a major case of wanderlust and just when I can’t quite scratch the itch, is right around all those feelings seem to come to surface. I love travel and I have found over the years that simply traveling to my favorite places such as:Gettysburg, Lancaster, West Virginia, New York, and Williamsburg; seems to be just what I need. Going to see the Musicals I am dying to see, these things and places help shape the ME, that I was created to be. One day I hope to have children of my own, and the last thing I want is to not set an example for being who you are, and going and living the places you love. We need to live. We need to take a step back from the daily stress and enjoy simply being ourselves.

So with all that being said, here is a little diary of sorts of Day 1:

I went to NYC with my sister April. We left early to catch a Megabus to the city. The ride went by quickly and before we knew it we were there.

Our hotel room wasn’t ready for us, but we went ahead and checked in our bags and went to Shake Shack for lunch. So good!! We were in the Theatre District. So we were close to Time Square and theaters.

We did some sight seeing before our show.

Then we went to see Anastasia.

The show was so good! I loved it so much! I would love to see it again if I have the opportunity too! I don’t want to spoil anything but the story, the music was simply dreamy!

I took some pictures of our hotel room so I am going to share those here:

The view from our room!!

Our room was very nice and a sight for sore eyes after a long wonderful day!

Let me know what your favorite city/place to go is in the comments!

The Weekend In Photos

This weekend was busy so there was no time for reading. However, I did take some pictures and I figured I would share my pictures with you all!

So before we get to the pictures, I want to say a few things.

My thoughts and my prayers are for the Grimmie family and for those who lost loved ones early Sunday morning in Orlando. It breaks my heart that there are people in this world who are so hateful and took lives of innocent people. I pray that everyone would learn to love others instead of hating.

One other thing before I share my photos: I will be taking the rest of the week off blogging to prepare to go away for the weekend which I am so excited about!

Now, here are the pictures I took this weekend.

I hope you all have a great week and weekend!

Till my next post!

Lately In Pictures

Well I have been really trying to  take more pictures. Most of the time I forget to pull out my phone and actually snap pics. For example last night: I went to see Audio Adrenaline, Danny Gokey, Family Force 5, Jeremy Camp, Mandisa, Phil Wickham, Newsboys and Citizens Way. Did I take pictures of this great concert. Nope. I forgot too.

But, I have taken pictures over the past couple of weeks of my everyday life. I figured that I would share them with you today. Just a small glimpse of my life.

What it looks like when I try to read in bed.

Not only did I have to get readers, I got my hair cut!

I also dyed my hair. Color is black cherry. So far I love it. Also a photobombing dog.

Every so often my Church does Sunday dinners.

A few weeks ago, I got this Ravenclaw shirt. Love it!

Colin and I went for a walk a few nights ago, and we matched. This happens occasionally and never intentionally.

Williamsburg Part 2 |Jamestown|

In the past few months have I really gotten to find a connection to Jamestown. Through studying my family and finding some of my relatives who had lived in Jamestown before settling in different parts of Virginia and Maryland.

•Indian Village•
The first part we walked through the Powhatan Indian Village.

•The Dock•

These were the replica ships.

•The Fort•

The Fort that the English built and settled.

After we did all of the outdoor museum, we went inside to go through the museum inside.

Williamsburg Part 1 |Colonial Park • Busch Gardens|

Our vacation crew this year was Colin and I with Dan and Jen, and Colin’s sisters Maddy and Chloe.

We were there for 6 days and while there were some hot days, we loved being down there.

We also went to Busch Gardens.

I also snapped a few shots from our last walk through the Colonial Park.

I love pink clouds! Don’t be surprised to see some of those cloud pictures in another post!

Vacation with Friends

•To prevent a novel coming out of one post, I will be posting a couple more blog posts!•

All stories have a beginning. The part where you sit in a comfy chair with a cup of tea or coffee. Some of you may rather have a glass of wine. You sit down and open up the book. The weight of the story meant to be read in your hands.

This story begins at Dulles airport. Colin’s best friend and his wife were coming in from England. I had met both of them over Skype and was excited to see them in person. After the hugs we headed home to begin a two week adventure.

The last two weeks have been Colin and Brandy. Dan and Jen. Or more actually Colin and Dan. Brandy and Jen.

Between swimming at Jerusalem Mill, sitting on the Pier at Mariner and many Bon fires. It has been wonderful getting to know both of them.

The house was filled with music and laughter. Now as I sit here and type they are home and it can’t be helped that I miss them.

Years ago, I wrote about asking God for a best friend. You know; the Anne and Diana-Kindred spirit kind. I can honestly say that I finally found my kindred spirit. Jen and I got to be really close. Now she is one of my best friends.

Jen is also a blogger. She blogs at  A Splash of Yellow  go check her out!

We also spent a week in Williamsburg. ( Those pictures will be in a separate posts). Here are few pictures from the first week!

To be continued……..

Beach Trip

The ocean is one of my favorite natural beauties on earth ( the other being mountains). I love the sight and sound of the waves, the smell of the salty air, the feel of the sand between my toes while the waves slap up against me. I adore the ocean. When I got saved that was what I listened to as I fell asleep. The plus side of getting saved on the beach! I am always reminded how much God loves me when I am by the Ocean.

I also got burnt. The past few days have been me drinking ice water, wearing loss clothing and reapplying after sun lotion. I also had no internet those days so I took the time to read. No Grey’s Anatomy for this girl. It was hard laying there and feeling burned and wondering why I even bothered with sunscreen anyway. I ended up burnt still. Good news, I am healing very well and I will have a nice tan. As well as not have to worry about being this burned again. Yay! Which brings me to my next trip: Williamsburg!! I can not begin to express how excited I am to go. And to go with my skin use to sun exposure so my sunblock won’t have to do all the work!

With any trip, I have a packing list. Besides the actual trip, packing lists are one of my favorite parts. It means we are getting closer to a week away.

So in closing I want to share a couple more shots I took at the beach.

Full of Wanderlust

It has been awhile since my last post. Sorry about that. I hate those moments where I feel like I don’t have anything to say. I have felt like I have been in a blogger funk. I have some fun trips coming up, so I can share with you.

I love adventure. I love traveling  to new places and revisiting old familiar places.

In July we are going to Williamsburg, VA!

I love going to Williamsburg and I can not wait to go back. I am going try and take as many pictures as possible! I have been practicing some patience in waiting for my camera to focus before snapping the picture! So I am excited to see if I get some good shots!

However before I go to Williamsburg, I am going to the beach. And you can bet there will be pictures!

Then after Williamsburg in July; in September, I am going to West Virginia to visit my Aunt. I went last year and I loved it. I loved being up in the mountains and spending time with my family.

And the mountains are gorgeous to photograph, even if you have no idea what your doing.

So while I am waiting for these fun trips to happen, I have been enjoying bonfires at my grandparents.

And taking walks on some of the trails.

P.S. I do have some fun posts coming up soon!
