Look Whose Back

April 22, was the last post I made here. It feels odd in a way to come back to blogging after being gone. I could go through the different reasons why I was gone, but the truth of the matter is that I needed it. I don’t really need to explain more than that. However, I do feel the calling to pull aside the shades and I have some fun plans in the works. I am really excited because I am in a season of life at the moment where I can really flex my creative muscles while also digging into some truth. My truth in particular, because I hope that some of the things that I have been discovering about myself will help someone else.

There is something freeing about admiting your truth. To admit that behind the pretty filters we put on, we all have our stories. Some stories are harder to tell then others but they don’t have to be the parts that we are ashamed of. That was what i was continuously struggling with. The idea that in Christ, there is nothing to be ashamed of. While our stories helped to shape us, they are not meant to be the identity in which you cling to. We like to hold on to the bad as excuses and identities because it feels safer. It feels safer then to lay it down and claim a more bold identity because if your proud of who you are, you are either to prideful or conceited. So we grasp false humilty like a blanket because it is easier then to proclaim that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. We hold onto our anxities because that is easier then to believe that the God who created all things can also care for your most mundane needs..He cares for the birds of the air and so can He care for you. It is easier to cling to our depression because we look to people, objects and anything that will make us feel happiness, when as Christians we are told to have joy. Joy is stronger than happiness because it’s foundation is not rooted in ourselves. I am going to talk more about anxiety and depression in a different post because I want to share my struggles and victories in these areas of my life.

In other words, it is time for me to strip down the walls and it is time to expose the truth with Truth. It won’t all be serious topics, I have some fun posts planned as well. I am looking forward to be sharing my heart with you once again. Till next time.

Updates and Changes

Lately, I have been putting out some very soul searching posts. So I wanted to take a moment and talk about some fun updates and changes. As the year comes to a close, I always try and plan new ideas for the blog. One of the things that I have struggled with has been a consistent blog schedule. So one of the things I am trying to do is have a upload schedule. My goal is to have two blog posts, two days a week. I don’t have any days in particular right now, but I do want to try and have something up.

I have a few posts that I am working on that I will post up till a couple days before Christmas and then start back in the new year. Hopefully with a better idea of a schedule for posting. I try not to have too much of a tight schedule to leave room for creativity and growth.

I am looking forward to make some changes and look forward to a more organized  blog! lol

Shows I have Seen Recently

Hello and welcome to my little home here on the Internet!

If your new to my blog: I love musicals. I have been trying to make sure to share the different shows I seen. Since Anastasia in January, I have seen three more shows. This number includes seeing Anastasia again in New York.

I have seen:

WAITRESS:

I got to see Waitress ( The National Tour) in February. I LOVED it! It is one of my favorite musicals and would love to see it in New York as well.

GUYS AND DOLLS:

Another one of my favorite musicals I saw at The Fulton Theatre in Lancaster City. It was so well done!

I saw Anastasia again in between Waitress and Guys and Dolls, this time I got to see Christy! I was hoping to see Derek perform before his last curtain call as Dimitri but it was still so well done!

Wonder what show I will be seeing next?

Finally Back

After a long break from my little home here on the internet, I am back. I never intended to be gone this long but in some ways it was actually nice and I am back to feeling inspired. So before I go into an update, I hope you like my new blog name. Since I have been gone so long and I have gone through some changes, the new name fits me and the season of life I am in. So here is my update.

  1. Williamsburg Trip

Colin and I went on our anniversary trip at the end of June. This is also where the fate of my phone was sealed and I had a heck of a time trying to get back in, till today. It was such a nice time, even if I did end up losing my phone.

2. Boating

I went boating with my Grandpa. I read and I enjoyed having a phone again.

3. Gettysburg Trip

We took a family trip to Gettysburg. We always go to Gettysburg, so I don’t think I need to go into to much detail.

4. Hershey Park

We went to Hershey Park. Let me tell you, this peanut butter chocolate chip scone, was amazing.

5. Harry Potter Convention

My sister and I attended The Harry Potter Convention in Baltimore City. Super fun to listen to Devon Murray talk about his time filming the movies.

6. Second Gettysburg Trip

We went back to Gettysburg, this time it was just Colin and I.

6. Franklin WVa

I visited my Aunt in West Virginia. I love this little town and I always enjoy my time.

7. Watching My Niece

I got to watch my niece a good bit, and being her Aunt Bee is one of my favorite things in this world.

8. Wedding Season

We attended 4 weddings this year.

9. Sister in Laws Bridal Shower

We celebrated Chloe’s upcoming day.

10. Third Gettysburg Trip

We went back for another Gettysburg Trip.

11. Sister In Laws Wedding

Chloe’s wedding which I helped coordinate.

12. Christmas

I love Christmas. I baked cookies, saw the Nutcracker, and loved having my tree up.

13. Antietam Battlefield and Harpers Ferry

The day before Christmas Eve, Colin and I went to Antietam and Harpers Ferry. It was a much needed trip to kick off our holiday season!

To come: So if you made it here congratulations and thank you for sticking with me. I tried to make sure to keep everything simple and straight to the point. I have a couple of things coming up that are exciting and I am looking forward to blogging about it.

NYC Trip:

I am going to New York City! This is my second time going up there and my first overnight stay. I will also be seeing Anastasia on Broadway! So excited!!

I plan to take as many pictures as I can and I am excited to share with you all.

I also will be seeing a couple of other shows next year but those will be posts for another day.

Thank you for reading and sticking around! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and Holiday season and I will see you next year!

Full of Wanderlust

It has been awhile since my last post. Sorry about that. I hate those moments where I feel like I don’t have anything to say. I have felt like I have been in a blogger funk. I have some fun trips coming up, so I can share with you.

I love adventure. I love traveling  to new places and revisiting old familiar places.

In July we are going to Williamsburg, VA!

I love going to Williamsburg and I can not wait to go back. I am going try and take as many pictures as possible! I have been practicing some patience in waiting for my camera to focus before snapping the picture! So I am excited to see if I get some good shots!

However before I go to Williamsburg, I am going to the beach. And you can bet there will be pictures!

Then after Williamsburg in July; in September, I am going to West Virginia to visit my Aunt. I went last year and I loved it. I loved being up in the mountains and spending time with my family.

And the mountains are gorgeous to photograph, even if you have no idea what your doing.

So while I am waiting for these fun trips to happen, I have been enjoying bonfires at my grandparents.

And taking walks on some of the trails.

P.S. I do have some fun posts coming up soon!

Hello 2015!

It has been so long since I have posted, and I am sorry for that! I have had so much go on and before I knew it the month is coming to a close. Since I have been gone for a bit I decided to just share with you what my month has been like.

Colin was licensed to preach at the beginning of the month. I am so thankful for all of the people who have prayed, and encouraged us through this new season that we have embarked on! We are blessed beyond measure. Colin and I are both excited for the future that God has planned for us. I was given this beautiful frame from my Pastor’s wife and friend. I am excited to enter the ministry.

On the 17th I had attended the Dare To Be conference. The theme was Wear Love Out. It was a wonderful time of worship and learning. God spoke to my heart and I left that night feeling so uplifted! I recommend this conference! I have started the devotional and hope to talk about it once I have finished.

We had some snow and Colin made it a date and went to Starbucks and dinner at Cracker Barrel. It was nice and quiet. a wonderful time for the two of us to talk and dream. All while eating amazing food! It is so important to continue to date after marriage and I love date nights!
Bethel Music came out with a new CD and I love it! It has been my favorite CD to listen to right now.
I have loved doing yoga. I discovered Holy Yoga a couple of months ago. It incorporates scripture and worship music while working out. It has helped me with mediating on scripture. Not only this but it has helped with my back pain, asthma and allergies. I have also used this time to pray more as well.
I have been loving making my salads with spinach leaves instead of lettuce. I grilled up some chicken and used organic shredded cheese and organic croutons. It has been a great healthy lunch this past week.

They said we were to expect a blizzard and it didn’t happen. I am so looking forward to summer and for vacation. I am looking forward to warm weather again!

After waiting so long, I finally re-dyed my hair. I did a soft black (sorry that the picture isn’t the best). I am so happy with the color and I think I will stick with it for awhile.
I think that now that we have caught up, we are going to need to talk more often. 😉 I am looking forward to this new year of blogging and I pray that God will use this blog to bring Him glory!
Love, Brandy
