New York City is hands down one of my favorite places. I love the hustle and bustle and the architecture. I love the towering skyscrapers and Time Square. I love Broadway and New York pizza. This was my second time in the city and I was reminded of how much I love the city. When I was in Middle School/High School, I had dreams of moving to the City That Never Sleeps. Now however, I am content with visiting when I can. It always amazes me how our lives end up panning out in comparison to those childhood dreams. I am not disappointed in the way life turned out only disappointed that I don’t take enough time to do the things I enjoy. I think from now on, I am going to change that. When ever I feel lost or confused, New York seems to bring me back. Lately, I have been feeling lonely, and depressed. I haven’t being feeling myself. I get a major case of wanderlust and just when I can’t quite scratch the itch, is right around all those feelings seem to come to surface. I love travel and I have found over the years that simply traveling to my favorite places such as:Gettysburg, Lancaster, West Virginia, New York, and Williamsburg; seems to be just what I need. Going to see the Musicals I am dying to see, these things and places help shape the ME, that I was created to be. One day I hope to have children of my own, and the last thing I want is to not set an example for being who you are, and going and living the places you love. We need to live. We need to take a step back from the daily stress and enjoy simply being ourselves.
So with all that being said, here is a little diary of sorts of Day 1:
I went to NYC with my sister April. We left early to catch a Megabus to the city. The ride went by quickly and before we knew it we were there.
Our hotel room wasn’t ready for us, but we went ahead and checked in our bags and went to Shake Shack for lunch. So good!! We were in the Theatre District. So we were close to Time Square and theaters.
We did some sight seeing before our show.
Then we went to see Anastasia.
The show was so good! I loved it so much! I would love to see it again if I have the opportunity too! I don’t want to spoil anything but the story, the music was simply dreamy!
I took some pictures of our hotel room so I am going to share those here:
Our room was very nice and a sight for sore eyes after a long wonderful day!
Let me know what your favorite city/place to go is in the comments!
