So this was one book I was really excited to read before I see the movie. I looked in my library for the past couple of months because it was always checked out. So I finally got my hands on The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins.
This book has a lot of hype and this one for me at least was not a book that I didn’t feel it. The writing is good, the story is told from mainly the views of Rachel and Megan. The there was Anna and it clicked who this horrible guy is. It didn’t shock me. I blame this on my Law and Order SVU and Criminal Minds reruns that I insist on watching every time they are on.
I felt bad for Rachel. She was trapped in a lie and she believed every word of it. Her life is in a mess and then she gets so wrapped up in trying to help with the case of the missing girl. Not realizing that she knew more then she thought.
Megan is the pretty girl who on the outside seems to have her life together only till we see that she is hurting.
Anna, I was just glad she had common sense in the end.
I gave this book 3 stars on Goodreads.
- Side Note*
I do not believe in “bashing” books. There are just some books that are not for me. Every book is someone’s hard work and just because it was not the book for me, does not mean that the book isn’t for some one else. I love that there are different books for different reading tastes. I enjoy stepping out of the box and reading something completely different then I would normally pick.
Have you given this book a try? Let me know in the comments below!
Till next time
